Alba Advisory advises the shareholders of Maraga / Padel Horizon on its merger with the UCPA Group
The associative group UCPA and the company MARAGA, creator and operator of sports centers, announce a strategic alliance designed to support the growth of padel and sports leisure.
This partnership combines MARAGA’s entrepreneurial expertise with the strength of the UCPA group, against a backdrop of strong growth in racket sports in France.
MARAGA: high-quality sports facilities
Founded in 2015, MARAGA operates, under the Padel Horizon brand, a center dedicated to racket sports — padel and badminton — in Sucy-en-Brie, and an aquatic leisure and squash center in Paris, Wave in Paris.
MARAGA stands out for its high-performance sports infrastructure and strong environmental qualities, delivering the best possible playing experience.
An alliance around a shared sporting and educational project
The UCPA group and MARAGA share a common sporting, educational and experiential culture. With nearly 1,300 members, the Sucy-en-Brie padel school is one of the largest in France, as is the Horizon squash school with 200 members.
Beyond sport, MARAGA’s centers are places of life and conviviality built around “sharing together,” as promoted by the UCPA group’s educational and sporting project.
With MARAGA, we share a common ambition to offer a leisure sports experience accessible to as many people as possible. By combining MARAGA’s entrepreneurial culture with the experience and strength of the UCPA, we are creating a vehicle to develop new sports centers.
Guillaume Légaut, Managing Director of the UCPA
A strategic lever for national development
MARAGA was supported and advised on this transaction by ALBA ADVISORY, LAWDERIS and EXELMANS.
This strategic alliance with the UCPA will enable MARAGA to support its development in sports leisure, padel and other racket sports. A new center with 13 padel courts and 3 badminton courts is nearing completion in Lomme (59), with its opening planned for May 2026. Several other projects under study in France, some at an advanced stage, are expected to come to fruition over the next two years.
Aligning with an industrial partner like the UCPA allows us to secure our development and position MARAGA as a benchmark player in racket sports in France, while preserving our entrepreneurial and sporting DNA. Together, we are building a racket-sports offering accessible to everyone across the country.
Jean-Baptiste Piette, founder of Maraga
